EDUCATION

Access to education is a major challenge for many families facing financial hardship. They are often unable to send their children to school due to lack of resources, or are forced to withdraw them from school early to work and earn extra income.

ACCESS TO SCHOOL

Since 2005, we have enabled more and more children to go to school by covering all costs associated with attending school (uniforms, shoes, school bags and supplies) and by supporting families in very precarious situations.
This year, around fifty children between the ages of 5 and 18 went back to school.
With 2.5 hours of classes at the state school for the youngest and 5 hours of classes for secondary school students, the children and teenagers can then come to the centre for the rest of the day.

TUTORING

Children's days at Centre are punctuated by moments of activity and play, as well as educational moments. Because it is important to support children in their schooling, tutoring and several courses are organized every week to reinforce their knowledge.

Some of the children at the Centre have more difficulties at school. In the mornings and afternoons, group and individual tutoring is provided by our teacher, Tevi, so that these children can benefit from personalised support tailored to their needs.

During the week and at weekends, the children also benefit from Maths, English and IT classes given by external teachers to help them learn these subjects. Lessons are tailored to the age and needs of the children.

Educational support is essential to ensure that children stay in school and succeed, so that they can achieve a better professional future than their parents.

WORKSHOPS

In collaboration with our local partners, we organize workshops to address key issues in the lives of the children and teenagers at the Center. These sessions stimulate discussion and encourage the exchange of ideas.

Recently, our friends at M'lop Tapang ran workshops on topics such as children's rights, personal hygiene (with a focus on hand hygiene) and the dangers of the Internet for children and teenagers. These workshops are essential for strengthening young people's understanding and autonomy in the face of crucial issues.
