Whether within our local team in Cambodia or among our Board of Directors, every day everyone gives their all to make our actions in the field a reality and make them last.

OUR TEAM IN CAMBODIA

The running of the EKL Centre in Cambodia relies on the dedication of our local team, mainly made up of eight full-time Khmer members. For certain specific activities, such as sports or computer courses, we work with two external teachers who come to the Centre several times a week.

SAMRITH KEO

Co-manager.

Samrith plays an essential role in the day-to-day supervision and direction of Centre . She is responsible for administrative management and ensures effective coordination of all projects and activities at Centre. Her in-depth knowledge of each child at Centre enhances the quality of our care. In addition, she plays a central role in the management of social work initiatives aimed at supporting beneficiary families. She is also in charge of managing relations with our local partners, ensuring harmonious and productive collaboration to achieve our common goals.

Julien Parisi

Co-manager.

Trained as an emergency doctor and paramedic, Julien has taken on the role of Co-manager of Centre with Samrith, our manager for the past 4 years.

With the development of our actions and to continue and amplify the quality of our interventions, we need this managerial support from two people; Julien intervenes in the areas of social affairs and children's health at Centre. Thanks to his professional experience in these fields, Julien is able to strengthen our social work to support children and their families.

After falling head over heels in love with Cambodia in 2015, he decided to get involved in the well-being of the most vulnerable populations. His ambition is to contribute his expertise, develop useful partnerships, particularly in the field of healthcare, and invest in our association for several years.

MR BORA

Mr. Bora is the Centre's computer teacher. On several occasions each week, he leads introductory computer classes, teaching the children practical use of the computer and basic programs. His expertise is also put to good use for the children by offering support courses in mathematics. Mr. Bora plays a key role in the digital education of children, preparing them for the skills needed in the modern world, while reinforcing their understanding of mathematics.

Jade Pak

 Education Department Manager

Our new Education Development Manager is Franco-Cambodian. Combining fluent English with a solid level of the Khmer language, Jade is involved in strengthening the expertise of teachers at Centre, Tevi and Sopha. She is responsible for developing educational projects, contacts and partnerships with schools and other players in the field of technical, vocational and university education and training.

Jade is also involved in supporting teenagers and opening them up to the world, notably through initiatives such as the previous trip to Phnom Penh. She also offers English courses adapted to all levels, from children to members of the local team, as well as creative and fun activities.

Li-ya

Catering manager.

Li-Ya is responsible for the operational management of food purchasing and meal preparation. At Centre, children receive breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Each meal is carefully prepared with fresh, nutritious, quality food sourced from the local market or from the Centre kitchen garden.

She is also responsible for kitchen hygiene, ensuring a clean and safe environment for meal preparation.

Roda Operman

 Communication and Sponsors Manager

With a background in Marketing and Communications, Roda is our association's new Head of Communications and Sponsor Relations. Having held this position for many years in Madagascar, she brings a wealth of experience in managing the organization's communications. She is in charge of developing and maintaining these relationships, ensuring ongoing support for our projects.

Roda is also responsible for promoting the association, using her skills to increase our visibility and impact. With a deep concern for the condition of children, Roda makes an invaluable contribution to EKL. Her dedication and expertise are major assets for our association.

SOPHEAK

Responsible for the upkeep of the Centre and the children's hygiene.

Sopheak assumes primary responsibility for the upkeep of the Centre and for supervising the children's hygiene. She is committed to maintaining the impeccable cleanliness of the Centre, ensuring a healthy environment for the children. She also closely supervises the children's personal hygiene, including tooth brushing, thereby contributing to their daily well-being.

TEVI

Responsible for tutoring, artistic and cultural activities. 

Tevi plays a fundamental role in the field of tutoring and artistic and cultural activities. Her main mission is to lead the educational and pedagogical activities at the Centre. She is committed to helping children strengthen their knowledge and skills in Khmer and mathematics, by providing personalized tutoring. Tevi also enriches the children's experience by organizing various recreational activities, such as singing sessions and traditional and contemporary dance.

VANN

Responsible for preparing meals and managing children's hygiene.

Vann plays a key role in preparing meals and managing the children's hygiene. She assists Li-Ya in preparing the nutritious and balanced meals served at the Centre. She also supports Sopheak in the general upkeep of the Centre. Her mission doesn't stop there, as she also plays a crucial role in encouraging and supervising the children's hygiene. She focuses mainly on the youngest children at the Centre, looking after their well-being and safety.

VIVA

Responsible for security, maintenance and the vegetable garden.

Viva, responsible for safety, maintenance and upkeep of the premises, ensures that Centre runs smoothly. He maintains the vegetable garden and chicken coop, providing fresh food for the children. He also organizes gardening workshops for the children, educating them about the environment and sustainability. In addition, Viva manages all tuk tuk travel, ensuring the safety and comfort of the children and the team.

Sopha

Head of tutoring

Sopha is in his second year at the University of Management and Economics in Sihanoukville at weekends and is a tutor at Centre EKL during the week. He gives tutoring in Khmer and mathematics to maintain the performance acquired by students. He helps children with their homework and prepares them for exams. Welcomed at Centre 12 years ago, he has demonstrated his assiduity in his studies, thanks to continuous support from his family.

 

OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Enfants de Klang Leu is a "Loi 1901 association" created in 2006, managed by a Board of Directors who work in close collaboration with the Centre's field team. It is involved in decisions relating to the association's finances (approval and management of the annual budget), human resources (recruitment of team members, definition of roles and responsibilities, selection of volunteers) and projects implemented in the field.

Gwennaëlle Delbard

President of EKL.
Gwennaëlle has lived in Asia and had the opportunity to visit Klang Leu, where she was able to discover the projects in place and share the daily life of the team and the children. Gwennaëlle now lives in Brest, France, and manages the administrative side of the charity's activities.

Fabienne Hankard

Secretary of EKL.
Our secretary lives in Singapore. She has been actively involved with the charity since its inception. She is regularly present at the Klang Leu Centre for long periods to share the daily life of the children and the team, and to set up new projects. Fabienne manages relations with sponsors, actions in the field, fund-raising, and relations with volunteers and interns.

Florence Massardier

EKL Treasurer.
Our Treasurer, who has travelled the world for over 2 decades, currently lives in China; actively involved in EKL projects, she visits the field several times a year to monitor the progress of projects and the implementation of actions; Florence manages all accounting and financial aspects.

EKL FRIENDS UK & BELGIUM

Belgium

In February 2024, EKL opened an office in Belgium under the name EKL Friends Belgium. The non-profit association (asbl) aims to promote and support EKL's actions through events and fundraising in Belgium. EKL Friends Belgium is managed by a Board of Directors chaired by Laurence Bourguignon, withValérie Vierset asSecretary and Nathalie Minnen as Treasurer.

England

We are currently in the process of setting up and opening an EKL office in England. This project is part of our global development strategy aimed at raising the profile of our organization and extending our support network. By setting up an office in England, we hope not only to reach out to new partners and donors, but also to create opportunities for collaboration on an international scale, while ensuring the sustainability and growth of our actions in favor of the children and families we support.
